How to train Charisma and Coding in Lagos Life

How to use this shared guide

Use this field report to locate the next missing requirement or wish checkpoint. The promotion checklist compares your entered targets; it does not grant a rank change or read the game.

Historical scope: this source’s older statements about an uncompleted full shift or promotion refer to its own checked window. A later reviewed 8 October Banking shift recorded one completed payment and first promotion. Read the newer result alongside this archive; it does not verify later-rank pay, reset timing or every save.

Find the action on furniture, not the Skills panel

The supplied 7 October 2026 playtest records show skill levels and progress bars in the character's Skills panel, but no practice button there. Two home-furniture routes were tested: Standing Mirror for Practice Speech, and Laptop Desk for Practice Coding.

Check the furniture you already own before buying anything. All prices below are fictional game naira observed in one existing character's session, not a new-player equipment requirement or a current price guarantee.

Charisma: place a Standing Mirror

Open Buy, choose Skills and select Standing Mirror. Its displayed price was ₦1,700. Selecting the item did not spend money in this test; confirming Place in a valid green placement area deducted exactly ₦1,700.

Leave Buy, select the mirror in the room and choose Practice Speech. The action was marked free. After one completed practice, Charisma moved from level 2 to level 3 with no further wallet deduction.

The character was already close to the next level before starting. That result does not mean every practice earns a level, and it cannot establish how many practices a fresh character needs. The menu showed 9 seconds; the record did not independently time the action. Hype Yourself was visible on the same mirror but was not tested.

Check the career requirement before training more

In the tested Banking Marketer role, the next promotion required both 100% performance and Charisma 1. Charisma 3 met the displayed skill requirement, but performance remained 80%. Further speech practice alone was not shown to resolve that missing condition.

Read your current Career panel rather than copying this target into another job. A subsequent paid partial shift raised this character from 80% to 90% performance and paid ₦2,900. The role remained unchanged; full-shift settlement and promotion still have no completed confirmation. Our work guide now includes that later result.

Coding: place a Laptop Desk

The tested route was Buy, Skills, Laptop Desk. The menu showed ₦18,000 and a 2×2 footprint. Check the available space and your budget, then confirm Place. The observed deduction occurred on placement, not on first selecting the item.

After leaving Buy, select the desk and choose Practice Coding. This free action changed Coding from level 0 to level 2 in the first observation. The wallet stayed unchanged and Fun went from 100% to 93%. The net change may include time passing; it is not a fixed cost per action.

Starting progress was not fully measured, so do not assume one practice always grants two levels. The displayed 17-second duration was a menu label, not an independently measured training time.

Coding 2 made Freelance Gig available in this test

Before training, the desk's Freelance Gig option showed Needs Coding 2. After the observed level increase, that message changed to Earns ₦ and the action could begin.

Availability is separate from reliable earnings. A later save check lost some Coding progress and income from completed desk activities. Read the companion guide on laptop side gigs and save checks before spending money on a desk for income.

What the save checks actually showed

After a mixed session of training and side gigs, one refresh and Continue returned Coding from level 3 to level 0 and also rolled back some money and Hustle progress. A second, smaller check used only one free Practice Coding action: Coding went from 0 to 2 and remained at 2 after refresh. All nine skill levels matched that second check's baseline.

The free check confirms one retained training result. It does not prove the earlier problem was fixed, establish a safe waiting time, or verify that future income will save. Avoid repeating a purchase or a paid action just to test a save problem. If progress has disappeared, record what changed and use the game provider's help.

Later follow-up: IG Shop retained the recorded skills

A newer isolated IG Shop check began with Coding 2 and Hustle 3. One completed action raised Hustle to 4; after refresh and Continue, all nine skill levels matched the post-action record and the observed ₦3,200 increase was retained. No training or second earning action was mixed into that check.

This extends the evidence beyond the earlier free-coding control, but does not show that the original rollback was fixed. It also does not verify saving a new Freelance payout or a newly earned Coding level in a mixed session.

A separate later Fitness change was observed across several activities, without a skill reading immediately before the second refresh. Its cause and retention across that refresh were not isolated. Do not treat walking or taking a cab as a proven Fitness-training method.

Train only the missing promotion requirement

In the later Banking state, Charisma 3 already met the displayed Charisma 1 requirement while performance remained 90% against a 100% target. This is a planning rule from the current panel, not a claim that one more shift guarantees promotion. A menu label such as +Charisma also does not guarantee a level: a later Evening News observation left Charisma at 3 with experience within the level unmeasured.

Music now has a separately tested route

Later supplied reports verified an Acoustic Guitar purchase at ₦4,200, free Practice Guitar, one Open Mic Performance and one Write a Banger action. Music rose from 0 to 1 in one practice, 1 to 2 in a later practice, and 2 to 3 after the performance. Writing at Music 3 did not change the level.

These are distinct observations, not a guaranteed level-per-action sequence. The linked guitar guide separates costs, income evidence, a simultaneous wish reward and the save checks. A later Fitness 7 reading also survived one controlled refresh, but the preceding rise across travel and dancing still had no isolated cause.

Limits and next steps

These are original summaries of supplied playtest records dated 7 October 2026, using an existing character. Exact training rates, other skill furniture, perk effects, cross-device saving and reliable hourly earnings were not established. A separate Fitness increase was not isolated to one action and is not evidence that walking always levels Fitness.
